Full Description

A single-storey hutment located in Zone 4, on the northern boundary of the airfield. A small two-bay hut on a solid concrete base. Brick built. "This hut was probably part of the later wartime radar/direction finding apparatus for the airfield as it is shown on the 1947 AP.

The hut still has parts of the roof intact, but it is windowless and open to the elements and already has some internal structural collapse. It is not a particularly strong build and will deteriorate further quite quickly in a short period of time if left in its current state.

As far as can be ascertained this is the last remaining upstanding ‘smaller/temporary airfield building’ left at West Malling". (1)
