Monument record TR 36 NE 1000 - Second World War underground structure, North Foreland Road
Summary
In April/May 1941 the army constructed a buried dugout at 12 North Foreland Road, Broadstairs. The precise function of the structure is unknown but it was fairly small, possibly a tunnel under the road. After the war the building was owned by St Stephen's school and the tunnel may have been used by children to cross the road. Owners of the building have reported that the tunnel is still there but the entrance in the front garden has been blocked up.
