Full Description
Struck a mine laid by the German submarine UC-6 in a position variously described as Folkestone Gate, W. 1m., and Sandgate buoy, 300 yds.,sinking in a 24.3 meters depth. Vessel was employed on Admiralty service at the time, transporting a cargo of corrugated iron sheets, probably for use in the trenches on the Western Front. Amongst those lost were the ship's master.
