Full Description
Whilst lying becalmed this brig was attacked at 4pm. by a German submarine which fired three shells at her. The crew took to their boat and rowed away to the north, clear of the vessel. About 15 minutes later the enemy fired three shells into the ship which sank almost at once, the submarine then making off without speaking to the occupants of the boat. The survivors were picked up at 9pm. by a patrol vessel and landed at Dover. Year Built: 1860 Builder: Hoad Owner: J. Murdoch Master: Richard. W.
