Summary

During the excavation of a lift shaft within 34 Biggin Street undertaken in the 1980's, about 6 layers of Roman pebble metalling was revealed over natural brickearth. It is possible that this metalling represents part of a Roman road leading out of Dubris though this is not confirmed. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information).
