Full Description
A man made cave close to the former site of Highfield, Chiddingstone. An initial inspection suggested a possible subterranean chapel with gothic-style pointed arched sections, which might suggest a medieval (14th-15th century) date. The report mentions the possibility of a link to Lollards. The report also refers to a previous survey conducted in 2012, which suggested the possibility that the cave was originally a Mithraeum. (1)
