The original Petley's Almshouses in Tonbridge were built in 1707 with a £200 grant from one George Pentley(1629-1705). The buildings are shown on the 1862-75 map but were then demolished and the Congregational Church built on the site. New Almshouses were built in 1874 on Pembury Road, Tonbridge (Petley Court). These are still in use and are shown on the 1897-1900, 1907-23, 1929-52 and current O/S maps.
