Full Description

During a geophysical assessment of ‘St Martins Field’, a green situated north behind New Romney High Street, which was undertaken in 2010 a high resistance anomaly in the form of a rectangle delineates the foundations of a walled building. This building is orientated North-South with a ground plan of 17m by 13m. a substantial amount of this structures sub-foundation still survives, surrounded by quantities of masonry debris. The feature has been truncated from the north by a later linear ditch for approximately 8m. A third walled feature appears to partially lie over the southern section of this structure. (1)
