Summary

Roman building materials (mainly relatively unabraded Roman tile) were found south and east of the toilet block during visitor facilities improvement works. This material could have been redeposited, but also could be debris from a previously unidentified building forming a southern wing to the villa.

Full Description

Roman building materials (mainly relatively unabraded Roman tile, and including tegula, imbrex, flue tile, tesserae, and opus signinum) were found south and east of the toilet block during visitor facilities improvement works. The rim of a mortarium was also found. This material could have been redeposited, but also could be debris from a previously unidentified building forming a southern wing to the villa. (1)
