Excavations in advance of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in 2002-3 identified a number of Romano-British property boundaries west of the Ebbsfleet. Two parallel wall footings were identified within property 4, these may represent a shelter associated with the large tank also located within the property. These footings constructed of flint nodules and appeared to sit on the ground surface rather than in foundation trenches. The footing to the north was 4 m in long, perhaps close to its original length while the footing to the south was only 2 m long and it is possible that its continuation to the north had been removed.
