Monument record TQ 67 SW 1640 - Fence lines surrounding property 5 of the Roman road side settlement, Springhead
Summary
Excavations in advance of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in 2002-3 identified a number of Romano-British property boundaries west of the Ebbsfleet. A series of post holes were located within the immediate vicinity of the Watling Street frontage and on the edge of property 5, these have been interpreted as representing fencelines of an early Roman date. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)
