Monument record TR 13 NW 286 - Possible former 16th century Westenhanger estate bailiff's residence
Summary
During the demolition of Pound Cottages c. 1910, the remains of a Tudor residence were uncovered. The Tudor building seems to have been converted into workmen's cottages such that there was no indication of the earlier structure within. During demolition a 16th century gable was exposed as well as some ceiling panels bearing the crest of Henry VIII and other crests and decorations.
