Monument record TQ 65 NE 22 - Romano-British cremation burial, East Street, Ryarsh

Summary

Romano-British cremation burials were found in 1933 during the construction of a chimney breast at Little Petherick, East Street in Ryarsh. Five second century burial groups were found. Finds included two penannular bronze bracelets with decorated terminals, one flagon, two flasks and a coarse ware jar. Several vessels of Samian ware were found including a beaker [Dechelette form 72] and four dishes [two of form 31, one of form 35 and one of form 18/31]. The finds are kept at Maidstone Museum.
