Findspot record TQ 67 SW 1711 - Palaeolithic handaxes and debitage, Swanscombe

Summary

During the excavations of trial pits ahead of development at Swanscombe community school, a total of 52 flint artefacts were recovered from within a gravel occurring between c27m OD and 29m OD. All of the artefacts were in a moderately rolled condition reflecting transport in the fluvial gravels but a few were less rolled suggesting that they had not travelled far (location accurate to the nearest 2m based on available information)
