Findspot record TQ 67 SW 1723 - Faunal remains recovered from gravels, Swanscombe

Summary

During mitigation work and sieving of the Pleistocene gravels ahead of development at Swanscombe Community School (Phase 2), two faunal remains were discovered. These included a large bone from a large mammal such as an elephant or a rhino, the other was a tusk of Palaeoloxodon Antiquus (straight tusked elephant). (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)
