Findspot record TQ 65 NE 25 - Iron Age pot, Lunsford Lane, Larkfield

Summary

In 1961 a large, handmade pot was found during building works at 332 Lunsford Lane, Larkfield. It is almost complete and has part of the rim and shoulder missing.The vessel has a rounded shoulder, an upright, concave neck and a rim turning slightly outwards. The base is flat. The material is gritty, grey ware which has become pitted on the lower part of the pot.The shoulder and neck areas have been burnished. It was donated to Maidstone Museum.
