Probable Second World War pillbox/feature, Minster. Shown on the 1964 1:2500 OS map. (1)

A Firing Range of 20th century date was visible as an earthwork and structure in RAF/HLA/564 V 6013 01-JUN-1942. It was described as 'Machine Gun Range' on a plan of RAF Manston dated 7 April 1930 (RAF Musuem, Hendon, reference MFC/78/24/0083) and as 'Gun Range' on a mid-20th century plan (RAF Musuem, Hendon, reference X004/2380).

It was recorded as a levelled earthwork/demolished structure in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021, however the rear screen wall, part of the track and the building at the front of the range appear to be extant in that imagery. This feature was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (2-3)
