Full Description

The buildings at the farm were assessed for possible designation as Listed Buildings in 2020 (the decision was taken not to list them).

From the report ""The earlier section of the PIGGERY is thought to date from the first part of the C19, and is nicely detailed, with its dogtooth cornice, well-executed Monk bond brickwork, and round-headed arched openings, both externally and internally.

The STORE to which the piggery is attached has been much altered, and does not retain noteworthy features, or clear evidence of its original use.

The BARN is a large mid-C19 structure of impressive scale, surviving reasonably intact, despite some
rebuilding and changes to openings. The mullioned ventilation openings are a feature of note, as is the queen post roof supported on internal buttresses, with its gantry running the length of the building. However, the building is characteristic of its date, and not of special interest when viewed in the national context.

The GRANARY, on the opposite side of the yard, is a small brick building of some interest, with its ventilation slits beneath the eaves. However, the building has lost one of its walls, and its roof structure, and is not of special interest.

The adjacent CART LODGE is largely the result of late-C19 and C20 rebuilding, with a C20 roof. The
former STABLE BLOCK retains its C19 roof structure, but has undergone significant changes, including the insertion of a large opening in an end wall, and does not retain evidence of its original use.
The former OAST BUILDING is a structure with a complex history. It bears a plaque with the date 1801, but this must have been re-set when the building was rebuilt in the late C19; a building
appears in this position on the 1870 Ordnance Survey map, but the building which survives today shows no evidence of enlargement. " (1)
