A total of 81 pieces of struck flint weighing 1461g were recovered from seven small test pits during a Geoarchaeological evaluation carried out on land to the south of Ebbsfleet Green, Swanscombe. The assemblage included, blades, a knife, scrapers and cores but the vast majority of it was knapping waste. There was a concentration within test pit 44 which produced over half of the flints (47). The general technological and morphological traits imply a Middle Neolithic to Late Bronze Age / Early Iron Age date for the bulk of the assemblage. (1)
