Monument record TR 15 NE 1875 - Masonry associated with early phases of Canterbury Cathedral
Summary
Archaeological work carried out in 2012 found masonry associated with Lanfranc's cathedral church adjacent to the north-west tower. Later masonry probably formed part of the Archbishop's Palace, perhaps buildings positioned against the tower. Later 17th century surfaces were also seen, probably laid down after the demolition of this part of the Palace in 1648.
