Full Description

`The American ship HAMLET, Jackson, lost both anchors and cables in the Downs 5th instant; run on shore in the Bay, where she bilged, but after unshipping her rudder, drifted off and since sunk in deep water, about a quarter of a mile from Ramsgate Pier, and it is feared will be totally lost.' (1)

Wind conditions at Deal on the 5th and 6th, `SW, blows hard.' (1)
