Monument record TR 15 NW 2570 - Three early Roman buildings, Marlowe Arcade.
Summary
Archaeological excavation in 2014 (trench 2) found what seem to be three probable successive buildings, dating from the 1st to 2nd centuries. The 1st century building was accompanied by what may have been the ritual burial of a raven. In the late 1st / early 2nd century the area was levelled and a second building probably built. In the late 2nd century this was replaced by the thrid building that was itself abandoned in due course.
