Monument record TQ 86 SW 326 - Chatham Southern Water Emergency Control Centre, Hartlip
Summary
In the 1980s Southern Water built three emergency control centres in southern England. The one at Hartlip served the Chatham area and was built within a disused covered reservoir but never fitted out. It nonetheless contains blast doors, a decontamination room, an airlock, generator room and fuel tank. There is also accommodation including a dormitory and a control room.
