Summary

The former Agricultural Hall was built in 1878 to a design by the Canterbury architect John Green Hall. The hall served as a venue for cattle shows and agricultural events. From 1909 the building also served as the town's roller-skating rink. After the First World War the Canterbury Motor Company acquired control of the hall and after the company was bought by Rootes in 1934/5 it was adapted to form a showroom and workshops. It was acquired by Peugeot in 1981 and is now demolished.
