Summary
The present Ryarsh Primary School buildings were constructed in 1941. To accompany them an air-raid shelter was built to the north of the school. The shelter consisted of two rooms with an entrance at each end. An anti-gas airlock was inserted into each entrance. Toilet cubicles were also placed at each end of the shelter.

Full Description
The present Ryarsh Primary School buildings were constructed in 1941. To accompany them an air-raid shelter was built to the north of the school. The shelter consisted of two rooms with an entrance at each end. An anti-gas airlock was inserted into each entrance. Toilet cubicles were also placed at each end of the shelter. The shelter was a standard construction, similar to hundreds of others in Kent. (1)
