Building record TQ 65 NE 446 - Second World War surface air-raid shelter, Ryarsh Primary School

Summary

The present Ryarsh Primary School buildings were constructed in 1941. To accompany them an air-raid shelter was built to the north of the school. The shelter consisted of two rooms with an entrance at each end. An anti-gas airlock was inserted into each entrance. Toilet cubicles were also placed at each end of the shelter.
