Monument record TQ 67 SE 1258 - Second World War road block buoys, Gravesend Road, Chalk
Summary
Second World War concrete road block buoys / tank trap in a line/group of five buoys positioned alongside a telegraph pole forming a road block to farmland south of the A226 Gravesend Road. Located in an entrance gap cut into the earth and hedge bank, the buoys and telegraph pole are used as a gateway by a local farmer for private access. The monument has group association with the World War II road block at Church Lane and Rochester Road. Together they potentially formed a road blockade along the main highway.
