Full Description
Excavations by the Museum of London Archaeology Service in 2006 found the remains of medieval buildings from at least the 13th century. The buildings were typical of small towns in England being houses and shops on narrow plots with buildings and yards to the rear. The discoveries suggest that development along King Street may have been laid out during the first half of the 13th century. (1)
