Summary

At least 20 graves were found, none were recorded, in 1843. The bodies were burried, head to the east, in rows about 45cm below ground surface, covering an area of about 10m. They included adults and children. The site was described as being on…"the slope of a hill to the right from Dover near Water's End Villa ..".

Full Description

At least 20 graves were found when labourers were clearing a thicket Febuary 1843, none were recorded, . The bodies were burried, head to the east, in rows about 45cm below ground surface, covering an area of about 10m. They included adults and children. One grave had a buckle and pair of 'pincers'; two of the graves had spearheads. One of the bodies had a chalk pillow under its head, and a "…short sword and dagger…".

The site was described as being on…"the slope of a hill to the right from Dover near Water's End Villa ..".
