Full Description
Second Edition OS map shows a vicarage with extensive grounds at Harvey Town, Tunbridge Wells. By the 4th edition OS map (1929-52), the building has been divided in two and the grounds encroached upon. The building has now been demolished. Crescent Road Car Park, built in the 1970s, now sits on the site.(1)
It is uncertain which church(s) the vicarage served. A likely contender is Holy Trinity Church, opened 1829, which is Trinity Theatre as of 1982. A map of the original Calverly Park site, shown on the Trinity Theatre's website (Heritage Section) appears to show a house marked "Rev H. Woodgate". Henry Woodgate was the first vicar of Trinity Church. (2)
