Monument record TQ 56 SW 241 - Site of Paper Mill, Mill Lane, Shoreham

Site of former Paper Mill, Mill Lane, Shoreham as shown on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Edition O/S maps. The Paper Mill would appear to have been demolished leaving just the Mill House. The first documentary evidence of the mill was in 1692, when it was a corn and fulling mill. The mill closed during WW1 and reopened in 1920. The mill finally closed in 1928 and the out buildings were demolished in 1936 with the main residence becoming a dwelling. (Source: https://shorehamkenthistory.weebly.com/the-paper-mill.html)
