Monument record TR 04 NE 17 - Burial site, Olantigh Mount. Wye
Summary
An inhumation burial site of 3 known graves. Pre-1800 two skeletons were found on the side of the mount, approx 1.5m below surface. Near these were several pieces of iron and two probable iron spearheads. Pre-1842 when the mount top was levelled more bones were found. There appears to have been barrows near the road on the Wye side of the mount.
Olantigh Mount is an isolated hill, near the base of the Sour valley, overlooking the river. OD 55m.
