Ightham, Oldbury Hill, Patchgrove Wood and "Patchgrove": surface-finds of numerous Palaeolithic handaxes reported in late 19th century (1, 2), of which at least 40 held in musuem collections, mostly in British Museum and Maidstone Museum (1, 2), recorded by Roe in the 1960s (3) and then listed in the Southern Rivers Project in the 1990s (4).
