Seal/Ightham, Stonepits Farm: surface finds of numerous Palaeolithic handaxes in late 19th century, reported by Prestwich (1, 2) and listed by Evans (3). Substantial collections in British Museum, Maidstone Museum and Ashmolean recorded by Roe in the 1960s (4). TQ 567572 Findspots of Lower Palaeolithic handaxes in Gault geology.
