Offham, Comp: surface-finds of at least two Palaeolithic handaxes, from Comp, and "East Comp", the latter locality equating with Comp Farm, and being the easternmost of the trio of Great Comp, Little Comp and Comp. Benjamin Harrison visited "implement-bearing drift" to east of Comp in 1888 (1), vicinity of "old lane back to Comp from Offham". Two Palaeolithic handaxes were recorded by Roe in the 1960s (2), one in Rochester Museum and the other in British Museum, then locality listed in the Southern Rivers Project in the 1990s (3).
