Listed Building record TQ 63 NE 246 - Furnace Mill, Lamberhurst

Summary

Early/mid 18th century mill. Although little of the mill's machinery survives, its function is revealed by the survival of two of the millstones, the timber hurst which supported them, the hatch and wheel for the sack hoist and the wheel pit. Nearby earthworks related to the mill’s water supply, and remnants of the brick walls of the head race, provide evidence for how the mill was used
