Full Description
Fragments of horse bone recovered from gravelly trails towards base of brickearth at Mr Gambrill's Brick-pit "at back of Sandfield Villas" (1). Precise location is uncertain but Sandfield House and cottages were, prior to the 1870s, north of the railway in vicinity of Palmerston Cottages and Ship Lane. Uncertain whether this locality is the same pit described as "Mr Gambrill's pit half a mile NW of The Bayle" (see KHCP4_M_13) (1).
