Full Description

Surface-find of cordate Palaeolithic handaxe (white-patinated, and well-abraded with tip broken-off) at Hawkinge, in ploughed field to S of airfield buildings, between them and the field's Gibraltar Road entrance, retained by the finder (1). handaxe was then mentioned in subsequent review of non-river-gravel finds in East Kent (2).
