Monument record TQ 67 SW 190 - Early Medieval / Anglo-Saxon cemetery, Springhead, Southfleet
Summary
Early Medieval / Anglo-Saxon cemetery of 70+ graves, 11 recorded. In 1997 feildwork ahead of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link by Wessex Archaeology established the existence of a C7th cemetery. Previously c.1884 Finds including an Anglo-Saxon disc brooch possibly from a burial and 1984 a square headed brooch were found. In 2003 further graves sites were found.
