Full Description
An archaeological watching brief carried out at Wayfield House, West Hythe in 2007 found a medieval land surface possibly associated with St Mary's church. 8 sherds of pottery dating to the 12th-13th centuries including several rim sherds from a cooking pot were associated with the occupation layer, and several blocks of Kentish Ragstone were also recovered from the deposit. These are interpreted (1) as possibly being associated with the nearby St Mary's Church. (1)
