The road overlay storm and occupation deposits dating to the 13th century. It was located to the west of the study area, in trench 5, it ran NE-SW and was constructed of mortar and gravel, a channel along its length was interpreted as a wheel runnel. The road was sealed by a layer of dark sand containing late Medieval pottery which was in turn sealed by a garden soil. (1) (Information summarised from source)
