Full Description

A shallow masonry wall foundation and associated compact gravel surface, both with a likely thirteenth/early fourteenth century date, was discovered during evaluation trenching off Church Lane, New Romney. The feature cut extensive abandonment/agricultural soil horizon that produced a sizable assortment of domestic debris including pottery dated AD 1250/75–1300/50. (1)
