Full Description
A moderate collection of Medieval pottery was recovered from the base of an agricultural soil deposit during a watching brief carried out in 2009, in the garden of High House, High Street, New Romney. The pottery ranges in date from AD 1150 - AD 1400. The overall depth of the deposit and the volume of pottery retrieved from its lower levels is suggestive of long term rubbish disposal/manuring of open land on the fringes of the medieval town.
