Full Description

Structure 35 comprised six sub-circular post-holes in the extreme north-west corner of Plateau 6, four clustered together, with a further two located 3m to the south-west and 1.3m apart. All the features were of a similar shape and size in plan, between 0.4 and 0.56m in diameter and from 0.14 to 0.27m deep with the majority having ā€˜U’-shaped profiles. They contained similar fills some with inclusions of charcoal, burnt flint, grain, hazel nut shell and snails. One posthole provided a small assemblage of undiagnostic prehistoric sherds, while two others produced a small group of Mesolithic/early Neolithic flintwork, mostly flakes. Though presumably structural, no unequivocal interpretation could be determined. (information summarised from source) (1)
