Summary

A number of Mesolithic flint implements including flakes, blades, scrapers and points. Discovered during work to lay foundations for new houses in Rusthall Park in 1902. The flakes were unpatinated, and included a broken microlithic point blunted down the whole of one side. Thought to be held in Tunbridge Wells Museum.

Full Description

In laying foundations of houses in Rusthall Park, Tunbridge Wells, in 1902, a number of flakes were discovered; now in Tunbridge Wells Museum. They are quite fresh and unpatinated, and include a broken microlithic point blunted down the whole of one side. (1). TQ 5692 3954. Found by Dr. Abbott late of No 2 Rusthall Park at or near that address. (a) A number of flakes including blades, knives and points are exhibited in Tunbridge Wells Museum. (2). TQ 570396 Rusthall Park (sited to place name only) 20 blades/flakes, 2 scrapers and a microlith, all mesolithic, found. Information from J. H. Money, finds in Tunbridge Wells Museum. (3)
