Full Description

Double round oasts that appear on the 2nd ed. (1897-1900), 3rd ed. (1906-1923) OS maps. Now demolished.

A 2007 report on the present oast house at the site described it as having been constructed on the site of an earlier oast house known through map evidence to have existed since at least 1843. The earlier oast house had been enlarged with the addition of two roundels and associated buildings to the south and east during the later 19th and earlier 20th century. This structure burnt down during the 20th century and the existing oast house was constructed on its site around 1939-1940. (3)
