Full Description
Edge millstone ( for a horse/s powered mill) with tooth-edged face, and associated structural debris were unearthed during the conversion of the ex-coach builders workshops into residential housing in the 1980s. It has been suggested that there was a formerly a bark mill on the site, built to serve the nearby monastic tanyards and that the millstone may have come from this. Now destroyed.(1)
