Findspot record TQ 65 NE 44 - Lead seal die found at Leybourne

Summary

An incomplete circular lead seal die was found in a field between Leybourne Castle and the A20 road. Two incised circles surround a trefoil and include the letters WILL I RUFFUN -seal of William Ruffun.(?) The reverse of the die has a small handle between two "S"s, one reversed.It is dated to 13th century and is 2.5cm in diameter. An impression of the die is kept at Maidstone Museum.
