Full Description

Probable post-medieval quarry on land at 8 St Martin's Place, Canterbury excavated by Canterbury Archaeological Trust during an archaeological evaluation. The quarry is thought to date to the early 19th century. The quarry is evidenced by south to north slumping of deposits in trench 2. Finds from the feature include an early 19th century fragment of pottery, a post-17th century gun flint, and a 19th century clay pipe. (1)
