Full Description

Medieval clay extraction pit in the grounds of St Edmund’s School, Canterbury excavated in 1998 during monitoring work. The extraction pit is thought to relate to the 12th-15th century pottery and tile industry which existed in the local area. The site was mentioned in background material from a report on the desk based assessment of a St Edmund’s School (1).
