Full Description
A fragment of human skull possibly dating to the Roman period was excavated at land to the rear of the Falstaff Hotel, Canterbury, in 2017. The fragment was redeposited in a later layer/feature; however, its presence suggests that there may be Roman inhumation burials in the nearby area.
The same site provided evidence for Roman archaeology in the form of road metallings (TR 15 NW 2604), with Roman occupational activity present in the local area (1).
